Marketplace terms

These terms cover bookings and payments on the Construct207 marketplace. By creating an account or booking through the site, you agree to them.

1. What Construct207 does

Construct207 is a marketplace that connects contractors, crews, equipment owners, and the people who hire them. We are not a party to the work agreement between a hirer and a contractor, and we do not perform, supervise, or guarantee the work.

Contractors are responsible for their own licensing, insurance, permits, taxes, and the quality of their work.

2. Fees

Construct207 charges a platform fee on each booking paid through the site. The fee is shown on the booking before the hirer pays, and is deducted from the contractor's payout.

3. Payment held until the work is done

When a hirer pays for a booking, the payment is collected by Construct207 through our payment processor, Stripe, and held until the job is completed. The contractor's share is released when the hirer confirms the work is done, or automatically as described in section 4.

Construct207 is not an escrow agent, bank, or money transmitter. Held funds are not placed in a trust or escrow account and do not earn interest.

Contractors must finish payout setup with Stripe before funds can be released to them.

4. Automatic release

If no problem is reported within 7 days of the contractor marking the job complete, payment is released to the contractor automatically.

A hirer can confirm completion earlier to release payment right away. Funds are not released while a problem report is open, while a refund or chargeback is pending, or before the contractor has finished payout setup.

5. Reporting a problem

A hirer can report a problem from the booking page at any time before payment is released. Reporting a problem pauses release until Construct207 reviews it.

We may ask both parties for information, photos, or documents. After review, we may release payment to the contractor, refund the hirer in full or in part, or split the amount. Our decision on held funds is final as to Construct207, but does not limit any legal rights either party has against the other.

6. Refunds, chargebacks, and reversals

If a hirer disputes a card payment with their bank after the contractor has been paid, and the dispute is decided against us, Construct207 may recover the disputed amount from the contractor, including by reversing the payout or deducting it from future payouts.

7. Booking through Construct207

For 12 months after a hirer and a contractor first connect through Construct207 (for example, by sending a booking request or message about a listing), both parties agree to book and pay for any work between them through Construct207, and not to arrange or pay for that work outside the site to avoid platform fees.

To support this, phone numbers, email addresses, and other contact details are not allowed in listings or booking messages, and may be blocked.

If we find that users have moved a booking off the site to avoid fees, we may charge the platform fee that would have applied, and suspend or close the accounts involved.

8. Accounts and conduct

You must give accurate information, keep your login secure, and not post misleading, unlawful, or fraudulent listings. We may remove listings or suspend accounts that break these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Construct207 after a change means you accept the updated terms.
